The “Saint” of Lost stuff???

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, GOD’S SPECIAL POSSESSION,that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9)

So a while ago I lost something important and I called one of my favorite people (who happened to be of the Catholic faith) to kind of laugh it off and

Maybe mourn about it.

“Pray to the saint of lost belongings,” she said and I giggled. But I realized some

Of what she said was actually true! Tho I don’t believe in praying to anyone but God himself, she was so right in that PRAYER is most useful method of finding things before the actual search begins.

Losing things is perplexing, isn’t it? You just can’t imagine where it could have gone but you hope and believe it’s still out there! It might be funny to laugh about it years later if you’ve found the stuff and I really reminiscing about of all the strange places i found at item I was longing for!

My hairstylist is telling me she lost her Apple air buds one time and the whole story is so dramatic! “I found them when i discovered a hole in my purse one day” she said. It was in the 2nd layer of her bag!!! I told her about the time I lost my school book on a drive, not realizing I placed it on the roof of my car before taking off w my coffee for the drive.

(Never did find that book but I imagine the florida ducks are enjoying the literature under the sun somewhere!) hee hee

It really stinks but isn’t that  life? Some of us or all us lose stuff often or constantly. We cry, we pray, and sometimes we just pay for a new one if we’re blessed enough to find the extra cash or sacrifice by working extra hours. We promise ourselves we will slow down and be more mindful and put things back where they belong

But as my Jewish mama used to say, “as long as you’re alive and we didn’t lose YOU, we’re gonna be ok.” It’s one thing to lose stuff  but our loved ones are Irreplaceable. We are priceless.

And so, I remind myself today, that Our spirits and our well-being is most important to God. He doesn’t wanna lose us and He doesn’t want us to lose ourselves except in His love. He wants us to live ALIVE and well in Him. (“In Him we live, and move and have our being” paraphrased from scripture)

Amazing grace how sweet the sound, we might have been lost but we now we are  found!

Have you been lost? If so, please run into the arms of God right now and find yourself in Him. He wishes to find you more than you can imagine, like a shepherd who leaves 99 sheep to find the one…like a woman who abandons all her duties to search for her golden ring…like more than an adorable golden doodle longs to find his master!

Luke 15:7

"I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”

My prayer ( for believers )

Lord increase my confidence in you. Everything is rubbish compared to your love. Let me be more heavenly than earthly minded. Amen.

Prayer for the not yet believer:

Lord I believe you are God and I want to dedicate my heart to you. I admit my mistakes, believe you are my Messiah and confess you are God and closest friend. I receive you now and wanna be found. Amen!
